מגדל סקיי ב Auckland

מגדל סקיי (באנגלית: Sky Tower) הוא מגדל הממוקם באזור העסקים המרכזי של אוקלנד שבניו זילנד.

בניית המגדל החלה בשנת 1995 והוא נפתח לאחר שנתיים ו-9 חודשים, ב-3 במרץ 1997. 15,000 מטר מעוקב של בטון, 2000 טונות של פלדה מחוזקת, ו-660 טון של פלדה מבנית שימשו לבניית המגדל. התורן לבדו שוקל למעלה מ-170 טון.

המגדל מושך כ-600,000 מבקרים בשנה.

בנוסף לשימוש המגדל לתצפית ובידור, המגדל משמש לתקשורת (טכנולוגיה לתקשורת אלקטרונית למרחקים) 1, ולשידור עם (APE (Auckland Peering Exchange) שממוקמת בקומה 48. כמו כן קבוצה של שדרני רדיו חולקת משדר FM במגדל, ול-TV3 ול-TV4 יש משדר משני במגדל (המשדר הראשי נמצא בואיאטרואה (Waiatarua)). החלק העליון של המגדל מכיל מסעדה מסתובבת ומספר עמדות תצפית.

The Sky Tower was a great experience. You can stand in the clouds on 36mm of glass and look down at the ground. What is not to like? Awesome views, It is a spectacular 360 view of Auckland.

Great views of Auckland! You can pay $4 to see the "other" view. If you come during the day, you can see the night view! Valid for 24 hours with a standard ticket.
