The courtyard and the lobby is open for everyone and it's beautiful and tranquil inside. If you want to know more, book one of the guided tours (also available in English, but not at all times)

Geschichtsträchtiges Rathaus in top Lage. Kurze Wege zur Alster sowie allen wichtigen Lokalitäten der Altstadt. Die U-Bahn erledigt alles weitere... Sollte auf alle Fälle in die Sightseeingtour...

Im Innenhof des Rathauses findet sich der Hygieia-Brunnen. Die Hygieia, eine weibliche Bronzefigur, steht für "Gesundheit". Der Brunnen erinnert an die letzte große Choleraepidemie im 19. Jahrhundert.
